Biography
Veronica Chacón

Born in Bogotà in 1975,
this young Swiss/Colombian mezzo soprano is an opera singer, established in London.

When I arrived in London ten years ago
to study singing, my new teacher asked me to save my voice and
not to sing too much, except during the lessons.
It was so difficult not to be able to express myself
that I started to paint a lot, using my previous experience in
art therapy for children...

Veronica also teaches piano and French and has designed illustrations for children. She is a skilled engraver on glass, crystal, silver and gold too…
Her latest passion is serigraphy…

Painting and drawing is helping her to find the calm and the peace of mind necessary to work on her voice.

Veronica’s paintings can be described as minimalist-monochrome. Specially interested in the line, in the movement of the women’s body’s shape, she likes to refine the subject until the contours and silhouettes are expressed in their simplest way…

…breathing is the most
important thing whatever
I am painting of singing…

Currently,
Veronica is working on commissioned painting,
work for her next exhibitions in London
and prepares a French recital tour
in Switzerland, Germany, Spain & England...
